On May 23, 2021, the 9th Taiyuan University of Technology Structural Design Competition was held at the Fifth-floor Structural Design Innovation Base of the Road and Bridge Building on the Yingxi Campus. The competition attracted more than 180 students from different grades and majors in the school to sign up for the competition. In the end, 17 teams were selected. Entering the final loading link, the Taiyuan University of Technology Structural Design Competition Committee Lu Guoyun, Cheng Xin and Zhang Jiaguang conducted on-site evaluations, and the participating students and instructors were present to observe.
This structural design competition is based on the title of the 14th National College Student Structural Design Competition in 2020 "Design and Production of Variable Parameter Bridge Structure Models". The vertical concentrated load and the bridge deck moving load. On the premise of ensuring the safety of the model, it is also necessary to control the deformation of the model, and at the same time test the comprehensive application ability of the students' knowledge of civil engineering structures.
After about two months of careful preparation for pre-competition team registration, description of competition questions, theoretical scheme design, offline model structure production and other links, each participating team carried out model theoretical scheme design calculations and model structure lines around the competition questions. The comprehensive competition of the next production and the loading performance of the on-site model, each link has devoted a lot of hard work of the students.At the final stage, the participating teams competed fiercely, and finally selected 1 special prize group, 2 first prize groups, 3 second prize groups, 4 third prize groups, 7 excellence award groups, 1 best creative award group, and the most Best Handicraft Award 1 group. In the end, the three judges made a summary and comment on the competition, praised the students for their serious and hard work, and hoped that the students would continue to work hard, carry forward the spirit of craftsmanship, and strive for better results.
