The evening of October 28th, the experience sharing meeting of the 14th National Collegiate Structural Design Competition was held successfully in the conference room on the fifth floor of Erudite Hall. Liupeng Zhang, Zijian Zhang and Jiayu Shi majored in Roads and bridges engineering shared their experience and put forward improvement methods and suggestions.

"Because of love, so insist" Liupeng Zhang, a participating student from the class 2018 of road and bridge major, was the first to give a report, and he described his own experience of the competition process. At the beginning of the freshman year, he had tried to make models by himself, at the the sophomore year, he conducted a large number of rod compression experiments, and participated in industrial training competitions until he participated in the 14th National Structural Collegiate Design Competition in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The structural design competition accompanied his whole university life. Later, he introduced the overall situation of the national competition, analyzed the advantages and disadvantages, as well as summarized, and made a summary after the competition. He also proposed new improvement directions for students according to the characteristics of our school, hoping to improve the system construction and training management system.

"Be responsible for the life of the building, be responsible for every decision you make" Zijian Zhang, a participating student from the class 2019 road and bridge major, shared the experience on component fabrication and node processing in detail, and put forward suggestions on the improvement direction of component fabrication and node processing in the future.

"Details are the key to success or failure, but the discovery of details is build on the success or failure of the countless times " Finally, Jiayu Shi specifically presented the details of the structural competition , about the treatment methods and precautions of bamboo strips, bamboo, bamboo powder, and glue, etc. The experience and growth are produced after repeated attempts and comparisons.

They have their own passion, persistence and unremitting efforts to the competition. They told the students with their own actions that they need know how to sum up experience from failure, to dare to try new methods, and firmly to believe firmly that practice and theory are complementary and indispensable.
